Anabel was born and raised in Houston, TX and is fluent in Spanish and English. She completed her undergraduate studies in 2009 with a major in Psychology from the University of Houston and her Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Our Lady of the Lake University in 2012. Anabel completed her graduate internship at Texas West Oaks Hospital where she gained valuable experience working with children, adolescents and adults with varying degrees of severe mental health issues. Anabel was also part of a bilingual practicum team at the Houston Galveston Institute where she provided family therapy services to Spanish speaking families.

Anabel is a Licensed Professional Counselor as well as a Certified Trauma Professional. Since graduating Anabel has worked extensively with the immigrant population including counseling services to Unaccompanied Alien Children, Unaccompanied Refugee Minors as well as Female Veterans suffering from Military Sexual Trauma. Additionally, she has extensive experience with victims of crime in the Harris and Fort Bend Counties.

Anabel offers Solution Focused Brief Therapy as well as other modalities to overcome various relational and emotional issues. Anabel’s specialty is trauma; she is trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Cognitive Process Therapy for PTSD and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). Her expertise includes transgenerational trauma, especially within the Latino culture as she provides culturally sensitive counseling services in Spanish to the Hispanic community.
