PEERS Group for Teens

PEERS for Teens is an evidence-based social skills intervention for those who are interested in making and keeping friends and/or developing romantic relationships.

  • 8 to 16-weekly group sessions
  • Social skills are taught through didactic lessons and role-play demonstrations and practice these skills during group socialization activities.
  • Teens will learn about:
    • Developing and maintaining relationships
    • Conversational skills
    • Entering and exiting conversations
    • Appropriate use of humor
    • Electronic Communication and Appropriate Use of social media
    • Dating Skills
    • Organizing get-togethers
    • Handling direct and indirect bullying
    • Handling disagreements
    • Handling dating pressure

    Grandparents Raising Grandchildren

    • Do you feel frustrated with trying to navigate the school system?
    • Do you struggle with understanding the emotions and behaviors of your grandchild(ren) that you are raising?
    • Would you like to learn more about financial assistance programs available to you as a grandparent raising your grandchild(ren)?

    This support group will provide an opportunity to meet and talk with other grandparents who are experiencing similar struggles. Discussions will consist of various topics such as different types of custody, financial assistance programs, common emotions/behaviors, effective disciplining, navigating the school system, the impact of technology and social media, benefits of play, and the importance of self-care.

    This group will meet weekly for 8 weeks for ONE HOUR. Each group meeting costs $10.
