Rachel Chovanec

M.A., LPC-Associate

Rachel received her Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from the University of Houston-Victoria in 2017. Rachel is provisionally licensed as an LPC-Associate for the State of Texas (79393) and is working towards finishing her internship hours. She is currently under the supervision of Allison Besio, M.A., LPC-Supervisor.

Rachel has worked in Christian private practice, outpatient substance abuse treatment, and then for a child advocacy center where she received training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. In the near future, Rachel hopes to become TF-CBT certified. Rachel joined the team at Turning Leaf Counseling and Education Center in January 2022.

Rachel loves getting to work with the children, teenagers, and adults who walk through our doors at Turning Leaf Counseling and Education Center. Her clinical skills are trauma-informed and she has a special place in her heart for working with the teenage population. She recognizes the myriad of challenges the young people face growing up in a world that seems ever-changing and desires to help equip them with the tools they need to step into adulthood with confidence.
